this was one of those kinds of weekends we used to have back in dinkytown a few years ago. i'm not really sure where to start. we had a halloween party here last night and it went pretty well. had a good time. i was a wookie again. then i got talked into going to maplewood or something. while there i called my buddy matt up who was in madison for the big party and he told me, "hey i just got my face smashed in but i won the fight." so that made me feel good inside. i hadn't heard anymore about it until this morning, when it turns out it all started when he was arguing with someone, and this other guy jumped him from the side and punched him in the head. in the large, 10-man brawl that ensued he got pretty bloodied up and eventually took off for the hospital. but the cops wouldn't let him across state street to get to the hospital so he tried the next intersection with the same result. he was pissed and he apparently needed to get to the hospital so he called 911 and then the second cop ran him down as he was walking away and tackled him and cuffed him, for bleeding on the cop car or something. matt then continued to bleed all over the back of the squad car. he got nailed for disorderly conduct.

i guess we've all seen this one coming. i mean, once he nearly got in a fight with 300 lb. mark setterstrom of the gophers football team (now with the st. louis rams). it funny cause he's the smartest person i've ever known at math and physics. he can solve anything i have in any class. and he's now a grad student in hypersonics or something in aerospace engineering. just don't know why he's not smart enough to not get into a fight or piss off cops.

whatever, good times
