ok. i've finally done it. I'd like to apoligize to everyone i've let down. I had successfully avoided mooning another person for so many years that I thought I might go the distance. Nope, didn't happen. so the story goes, Cody and I were scrambling around on an obsidian flow at Newberry volcano in the middle of a snowstorm, when Cody got hit in the jaw with a snowball from about 50 meters away. Turns out if was one of our professors who threw the snowball. Cody and I looked at each other and knew in our hearts what needed to be done. So we unbuckled our pants and mooned our prof, thus initiating an hour long snowball fight in the middle of newberry caldera. oh all the wasted opportunities these last years. it was all for naught.
anyhow, the cascades were beautiful. oh, and the next day four of us climbed the south sister volcano. and now that i think about it, i may have let some more people down on the ascent. i was getting really sweaty, and it was pretty cold out so i knew i had to shed some layers to prevent my cloths from becoming damp. of course, after stopping damp sweaty cloths quickly become cold, so i knew i had to keep removing clothing until i stopped sweating. this finally occured when i was down to only my boxers and boots. in hindsight, it was a little awkward passing all those bundled up hikers wearing next to nothing. not one person even commented on my attire. anyway, i didn't summit in my underwear, as it was starting to get pretty chilly near the top (my shoelaces and pant cuffs were frozen stiff). oh well, maybe next year.
